Announcing the 2025 Consulting Rankings for All Regions!
Published: Feb 12, 2025

We here at Vault are pleased to announce our 2025 Consulting Rankings, including our new Vault Consulting North America 50, Vault Consulting EMEA 25, and Vault Top Consulting Asia-Pacific! A new firm has taken the top slot for the year: Boston Consulting Group (or BCG) is our No. 1 Best Consulting Firm to Work For in North America. After four years at the top, Bain has moved to No. 2, while Alvarez & Marsal retain their position at No. 3. For the EMEA and APAC regions, Bain clocks in as No. 1 in both.
The rankings are derived from the annual Vault Consulting Survey. Conducted in the fall of 2024, the survey asked approximately 12,000 consulting professionals from around the world to assess their peer firms on a scale of 1 to 10 based on prestige (they were unable to rate their own firms and asked to rate only firms with which they were familiar). They were also asked to rate their own firms in various quality of life categories, including compensation, hours, firm culture, business outlook, training, wellness, work/life balance, and overall job satisfaction. A weighted formula, which includes external prestige scores and internal quality of life scores, was applied to this data to create the Consulting 50.
The 5 Best Consulting Firms to Work for in North America Are:
No. 1: Boston Consulting Group
BCG has 32,000 employees globally, with North American offices in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It is the only North American firm that appears in the top 10 of every quality of life (employment factor) category. BCG is also No. 2 in prestige for all three regions, behind McKinsey & Company. Consultants at peer firms say that it’s a “strong brand,” “one of the best,” and that it’s “known as a global leader.”
No. 2: Bain
On top of its No.2 ranking in North America, Bain retains its No. 1 rankings in Best to Work For in both the EMEA and APAC regions. The firm has offices in 26 EMEA cities and 17 APAC cities. In all three regions, Bain & Company is the top firm in both Formal Training and Informal Training, key features of the employee experience. Consultants at Bain’s peer firms say that the firm is “world class” and “people focused,” with “extremely intelligent people.”
Aminad is the No. 1 Boutique
Another shakeup in this year’s rankings comes from the Best Boutique firms, where Aminad has taken over the No. 1 position from ghSMART. The firm is based in Arlington, Virginia, and it is well-represented in many of our employment factor rankings.
